Looking to get the most out of your next release? Whether you're running a Songfly campaign, PlaylisterClub campaign, or both, we’re here to help you achieve the best results. Check out the best practices listed below to sharpen your strategy and efficiently drive the growth in fanbase and streams you’re aiming for.

Tips for your Songfly Campaign:

  1. Run Your Campaign for Longer Than 3 Days: A 3-day campaign might feel quick, but it’s typically too short to gather the best results for your song. To give your track the time it needs to shine, we recommend running campaigns for at least 7-15 days. This allows more time to gather data and optimize performance, leading to stronger outcomes.
  1. Upload Better Creative Content: The more engaging your content, the better! Consider adding creative visuals like a music video, lyric video, or even a dance video to boost your song’s reach. Visual content catches attention and helps drive more interactions with your ad campaign.
  1. Leverage our Creative Resources: Not sure where to start with visuals? Tap into our library of images and videos available in the “Settings” section of your Songfly campaign. These resources are designed to help you create a polished and professional campaign.
  1. Turn on Smart GEO: While targeting specific cities and countries can be effective (and definitely have a time/place in specific campaigns), letting our algorithm choose proven regions with the best results from current campaigns may better maximize your fan reach.
  1. Track your growth correctly: Songfly's dashboard provides real-time results, showing clicks, new fan conversions, and which streaming services fans visited. This data is crucial for tracking campaign performance. "New Fans" are counted when they convert on your landing page and head to a streaming service—our last touchpoint. From there, they often stream the song, save it to their library, and follow your profile. Make sure to track which streaming services fans are clicking on and engaging with to focus on the platforms where your music is getting the most interaction.

Tips for your PlaylisterClub Campaign:

  1. Allow for the full promotion time before you start gauging results: Be patient and let the full promotion run before assessing results. Our playlisting ecosystem is built on real curation, so it takes time for playlisters to discover and interact with your song. Remember, Playlister.Club offers ongoing exposure, meaning your song appears multiple times in playlisters' feeds, increasing the chances of interaction.
  1. Change the song preview, tagline, and song background: We’ve recently added the option to customize the Creative Settings for your Playlister.Club campaign. This includes the 30-second song preview, the tagline, and the background image shown in our Curation Rooms. These elements, especially the song preview, can grab the attention of playlisters, so be sure to choose engaging parts to boost your chances of getting placements!

  2. Monitor your Performance Metrics like SEI & BEI: Keep a close eye on key performance metrics such as SEI (Song Engagement Index) and BEI (Behavioral Engagement Index) to assess the success of your campaign. SEI measures how well your song is performing in terms of playlist placements and listener engagement, while BEI tracks how listeners are interacting with your music on streaming platforms, such as adding it to playlists or saving it to their libraries. Monitoring these metrics helps you decide whether to continue promoting your current release or pivot to a new one based on how well listeners are responding. Tip: If you have a high SEI, it means you should definitely continue promoting that release!

  3. Maximize your potential with Premium promotions (versus Plus): With Discovery Premium, your track gets more exposure compared to the standard Plus option. Premium includes not only placement on the Discover page and in Curation Rooms but also a rotating bundle of Banner, Video, and Community ads, offering broader visibility to our playlister community. This increased exposure can help attract more interactions and playlist placements, giving your song a greater chance of being discovered by curators. Keep in mind, though, that success still depends on how playlisters engage with your track, as all promotions are based on real curation.

  4. Try a Test-and-Learn Approach for Better Results: Instead of spending your entire budget upfront, take an iterative approach. Start by testing your campaign for a week and closely monitor your SEI and BEI results. Based on these insights, decide whether to increase your Premium spend for the next week, shift focus to a different release, or even try a more targeted tool like Songfly. This strategy helps you refine your promotion efforts and maximize your return, ensuring you're investing in what's working best.

What’s the Difference Between Songfly and PlaylisterClub?

PlaylisterClub and Songfly serve different purposes, each with unique benefits. If your goal is to increase streaming traffic and gain broader exposure, PlaylisterClub is ideal. It gets your music in front of playlist curators, which can lead to playlist placements and more listeners discovering your track.

On the other hand, if you're focused on building a loyal fan base that sticks with you for future releases, Songfly is your go-to. It targets follower growth on Spotify and social media, helping you cultivate a dedicated fanbase that will engage with your music long-term.

By using both together, you can increase streams through playlist placements while also nurturing loyal followers who will support your music over time. This combination helps create a well-rounded, sustainable growth strategy for your career.

Follow these tips, and you'll be well on your way to boosting both streams and followers for your upcoming releases!
